Spyker Spyder C8/C12

The Spyker C8 is one the weirdest cars I have ever seen. It is Dutch which might explain something but I don't quite know. Since 2000 the C8 has comes in many shapes and forum meaning 11 different engine roof combinations. The chassis and body are original from Spyker but all of the engines used are from Audi. The base model C8 is the Spyder with an Audi 4.2 L V8 hence the 8 after the C. That 4.2 L V8 has only 400 hp but the Spyder can still go 186 mph and 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The next model up is the Spyder T. The Spyder T has  the same engine has the Spyder but with two turbo chargers thrown on it now has 525 hp which gets the car up to 199 mph and 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds. After that you have the Spyder Laviolette. The Laviolette has the same engine as the base model but instead of a soft or hard roof the Laviolette has a glass canopy. The next jump up is the double 12S and 12R. The 12R is the racing version designed for the 24 Hours of Le Mans race and the 12S is the same car for the street. The 12S has the same glass canopy as the Laviolette but an optional 620 hp engine that will get the 12S up to 214 mph and will go from 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds. The Most recent Spyker model to cole out is the C12 LaTurbie. Instead of the Audi V8 it has an Audi 6.0 L W12 with 500 hp which makes no sense because it is bigger then the V8 but has less power. The base model Spyker cost $288,000 and only weighs 2750 lbs.

Pagani Zonda F

The Pagani Zonda is a pretty awesome mid engine, real wheel drive, super car they is both fast and furious. The Zonda has been out since 1999 with only 207 units produced until 2011 when it stopped after three special editions with the Huayra replacing it. The last special edition is being produced up through 2012. The car was originally designed by a F1 driver and was going to be named after him but when he died in 1995 Pagani changed the name to an air current above there home country of Italy. The were two different body styles: Berlinetta or coupe and Roadster which where both 2 seater. There where nine normal models and 14 special editions over its 13 year rain. The one I'm ma going to cover is the Zonda F which is the most known Zonda. The F like all Zonda was made out of carbon fiber with a massive engine in the back. The F had a Mercedes-Benz AMG, 7.3 L, V12 with 602 hp and 560 ft-lb of torque. That massive engine plus the light weight of the F, weighing in at 2,700 lbs and the dual clutch sequential gear box made it possible for lighting  fast shifts and a 0-60 mph time of only 3.6 seconds. The thing that sets the Zonda F apart from most cars in the world is its top speed 214 MPH and its price tag of $1,388,270.94, yes it does cost almost 1.5 million.

Honda S2000

Im going to start by saying that this is my dad's favorite car even though he has never driving on in his life. The S2000 has a FMR or  front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout which means that the engine is in the front but is behind the front wheels and the rest is self explanatory. One of the most interesting reasons why they built the car was because it was Honda's 50th university in 1995 when the S2000 came out as a prototype at the Tokyo Motor Show and was on the road four years later. The S2000 came in a convertible version only, but Honda used some awesome technology to keep the car light. Since the car only weighed 2840 lbs, its 2 L inline 4 cylinder engine and its 240 Hp with 162 ft-lb of torque could propel the S2000 up to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 149 mph. It was also a handling monster with a 50:50 weight distribution. Unfortunately the S2000 was canceled when the stock market crashed in 2009 with 110,637 units sold over all 10 years. The S2000 base price cost $34,995 and the top of the line CR at $36,695with a EPA city mileage of 23 mpg whoa a affordable fun car that got canceled, what a surprise.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

In 2010 The Mercedes-Benze SLR McLaren was canceled leaving a open spot for Mercedes' own super car, the SLS AMG a partially new super car. The SLS is actually classified as a Grand tourer which means a very fast car that is luxurious. Its not short on the luxury with leather seats and a sat. nav. display. To go along with the luxury you also have to talk about safety which involves the SLS' gullwing doors. Ten to fifteen milliseconds after a detected rollover, explosive bolts situated at the top of the door frame fire and bell cranks separate the doors from the car for easy exit during a serious accident. On the other hand it does not lack on the performance part either. The SLS has a 6.2 L V8 with 563 hp and 480 ft-lb of torque. The car itself weighs 3,600 lbs which for a performance luxury car is pretty good. The SLS' 0-60 mph time is 3.8 seconds with an electronically limited 197 mph. Car and Driver drove the SLS in a quarter mile race witch it timed in at 11.7 seconds which is very good. The SLS AMG cost $189,600 with MPG of  14 city/20 highwy.

Audi R8

In 2006 Audi brought out a really awesome car, the Audi R8. First off its mid engine with Audi's amazing quattro all-wheel drive system, so it handles like a champ even though the car is pretty heavy. It also comes in either a coupe or a convertible also referred to as spyder body style. The coupe weighs 3,439-3,583 lbs and the spyder weighs 3,792-3,803 lbs. There are also GT models both body styles which are just insane. For both body styles there are also two engine options a 4.2 L V8 with 414 hp and a 5.2 L with 518 hp. The V8 can do a 0-60 time in just 4.8 seconds and go all the way up to 185. The V10 can do a 0-60 mph time in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 197 mph. The coupe base model cost $114,200 with the spyder base model costing $127,700.
